                               Who we Are

Helping hand ministries is a Charity organization dedicated to serving others.  We provide direct assistance to deserving and qualified individuals and charities both locally and internationally.
Its fulfills its mission to increase philanthropic giving by administering a donor-advised fund–a tax-effective way to consolidate, accrue, and grant assets to charity. Our philanthropic accounts offer donors a flexible and convenient way to give and, ultimately, help them make a greater charitable impact.
Our core values are built around a Christ-like vision to support and assist those who need it most.  By creating a community and network of donors and recipients, we can provide assistance to: disaster victims, individuals with medical conditions, startup ministries, foreign organizations providing Ministries work, and international students.
Through a careful review process all projects are confirmed as legitimate by our project managers – Donors are assured all projects on our web site represent individuals or charities in true need of assistance.
Based on each recipient`s circumstance, we strive to accommodate a specific need through the generous giving of others
Contributions made through Helping Hand Ministries are tax deductible.
Long-term, strategic charitable planning that minimizes costs and maximizes the impact of philanthropic giving.

The founders’ story
On behalf of the Board I’d like to explain briefly why we started this organization and what we are trying to achieve.
I made my first visit to Kenya at the beginning of 2005 and enjoyed the usual high points of a Kenyan holiday. However, I also saw things that shocked me to the core. There are parts of Africa I previously liked to pretend didn’t exist, but once you have been up close, it isn’t so easy to walk away- particularly when the suffering involves small children.
We visited a slum area called Kibera where poverty and disease has left a lot of children to fend for themselves and by children I don’t mean teenagers, I mean three, four and five year old. It was this that we could not ignore. The lucky ones survive on handouts and begging from other families but all too many get recruited into stealing and prostitution. With no route to education these children become trapped in the slum with no hope of escape.
However, in amongst this shocking environment there is also a chance to make a huge difference. I have always given to charity but have sometimes wondered where the money goes and just how much difference it was really making. By comparison we realized we could change these children’s lives with a relatively small charity with the confidence that any money people donate will be used well.
As we spoke with some of the community our vision began to materialize – what if we could buy a small plot of land, build a proper school, and establish community projects to help cover the running costs and expansion of the school in the future? This would provide a safe haven for the children in the short term and equip them hopefully in time to leave the slum forever.
This is why we started The Helping hand Ministries.
